Germany's oldest Christmas market and its neighbours, about 1.5–2 hours from Prague — a private Mercedes-Benz door to door, back the same evening.
The dates on this page are the published 2026 schedules. Organisers can adjust opening hours, so please check the official market websites before you travel. We plan the day around the date you choose.
On market evenings central Dresden fills up, street parking is paid and the train means carrying shopping bags across platforms. With a private driver you are taken to the old town, collected at the time you choose and driven straight back to your Prague address — warm, unhurried, with room for everything you buy.
Germany's oldest Christmas market, first held in 1434. The 592nd edition runs from 25 November to 24 December 2026, and the Stollen Festival falls on Saturday 5 December.
Craft stalls and an illuminated pyramid by the Frauenkirche, with Erzgebirge woodwork, Pulsnitz gingerbread and Stollen. Open 25 November – 24 December.
A more local atmosphere across the river on Hauptstraße, open into early January (closed over Christmas).
Knights, craftsmen and fire shows in the historic Stallhof courtyard. A small entrance fee applies on Advent weekends.
The Frauenkirche, Zwinger and Semperoper are a short walk from the markets — a good way to spend the afternoon before the lights come on.
